PureTech System issued new patents by US Patent Office

Software developer receives two patents addressing video analytics.

PHOENIX, Ariz. -- PureTech Systems Inc., a leader in geospatial video analytics, today announced the issuance of two patents by the United States Patent Office. US Patent No 8,564,643 "Camera Image Georeferencing Systems" and US Patent 8,599,261 "Vision-based Car Counting for Multi-Story Car Parks".

Patent 8,564,643 addresses PureTech Systems' technology growth in the area of video analytics upon mobile platforms. Mounting PTZ cameras on mobile platforms including land, water and aerial platforms increases their realm of utility, however, enabling PTZ cameras to map targets detected in the camera space onto the underlying terrain space on mobile platforms has far reaching consequences. It can address many operational needs in defense, border and homeland security, and search-and-rescue operations, among others. Such capability provides much richer, actionable intelligence including target location and target trajectory thereby bringing about a more effective command and control.

The second issued patent covers technology developed by PureTech Systems for car counting applications in multi-story, high capacity car parks characterized by low ceiling with helices and two-way transition zones. The methodology enables visible cameras to cope with highly specular vehicle surfaces. This patent complements other PureTech Systems patents that address throughput and accuracy counts for parking establishments.

“PureTech Systems provides solutions to address our customer needs,” explains Eric Olson, vice president of marketing for PureTech Systems. “Part of that process is protecting our intellectual property. The granting of these next two patents marks another step in our journey to continue that philosophy.”
