PureTech Systems Recognized for Multiple Perimeter and Surveillance Achievements

PureActiv® Video Analytics receives multiple accolades in Airport, Seaport, Border Awards competition.

PHOENIX, Ariz. -- PureTech Systems today announced that it is the recipient of multiple awards in the 2017 Airport, Seaport, Border Security Award from Government Security News (GSN). PureActiv, the company’s video analytics solution took top honors as the Best Long-Range Surveillance System, the Best Perimeter Protection and the *Best Mobile Surveillance ISR.

This is the eighth year of GSN’s Airport, Seaport, Border Security Awards program which recognizes the accomplishments of technology companies, government agencies, scientists, executives, transportation and law enforcement agencies and the many others whose combined efforts keep us safe and secure on land, sea and at our borders. This year’s awards included twenty-seven awards in nine different categories.

PureTech Systems’ entries focused on the latest additions to its PureActiv geospatial video analytics software suite, specifically those related to the ability detect and track for long range surveillance situations, including mobile deployments.

Several capabilities which set the PureActiv solution apart from other entrants included:

Detection and Classification – The ability to not only detect and classify IOIs (Items of Interest) at extreme ranges and under difficult environmental conditions, but also the ability to track an intruder’s actual location on a real-time map.

Advanced Camera Control Algorithms - The ability for a user to control a camera with precision at zoom ranges beyond 5 miles, and extending this capability to camera auto follow, which locks onto the video image of the target and automatically controls the camera to follow the target.

Map-Based Sensor Control - Map-based sensor control, allowing a user to steer a camera to view a specific map location by clicking on a map, by receiving coordinates from another sensor system or by manually entering target information given by a field officer.

User Landmarks - The capability for direct responders to add geo-location landmarks for reference and the ability to quickly re-aim cameras to any defined landmark.

Viewshed Capability - Viewshed is a map-based visual guide indicating what a camera can and cannot view based on obstructions due to terrain. As viewing distances become greater, more potential obstructions and terrain can block the camera’s view, making this visual indicator a valuable capability within these award categories.

Sensor Integration - The ability to collaborate between sensors aids in detection, tracking and alarm accuracy (radar, GPS and UGS) and also automates deterrence (Loud Hailer, Dazzler, Covert Laser)

Rapid Orientation – The capability to integrate with position sensors, and understand the location and orientation of sensors, allowing for immediate calibration of sensors upon deployment of a mobile platform. This was found to be especially valuable for perimeter and border applications.

More details of the award program and 2017 winners can be found at the Government Security News web site.

*This award was won by the Tactical Micro/US Towers team. PureTech Systems is a technology partner for this platform providing the video management, sensor integration and video analytics.
